News from fracture clinic not good. Top tips for making bones heal please.
Electromagnetic cage. Something to do with aligning the magnetic flux along the axis of bone growth, which helps drive ion flow and encourage the bone to 'reach' across the gap. Sounds like hippy tripe, no idea how you set up the magnets (it's got to be done RIGHT or it's no use), it was mentioned during my degree mumble years ago.
Patience, Calcium supplements, exercise. Try to get around as much as possible on the bad leg. I wore out 3 sets of tips in 8 months on my crutches. Also helps minimise the muscle wastage, Oh, and patience, did I mention that If you get your hopes up (like I did) you just get depressed at yet more time in plaster. Heal soon, Cheers, Paul.
Sorry to hear that. More surgery required? Dunno. In recent years (on and off here) I've noted that healing time and ability seems to vary hugely, with some people having no probs and others having loads. e.g. I had about <gives up counting> over twenty bone breaks to heal, and they'd all done so in three months. Champ's leg needed several attempts, but got there in the end. Frag seemed to have the worst healing ability of anyone I've met, or a skeleton made out of cheese. I've not been able to draw any conclusions.
It's an age thing. I think if I was younger, i'd have healed faster. Now i'm over 40, [1] I have no intentions of breaking myself again. Cheers, Paul. [1] Yes, I know that's hard to believe ;-)

Err, not entirely. I'm quite a few years older than you are. To be fair, I'm not 100% recovered[1], and probably never will be, but the bones themselves knitted very nicely in a very short time. Hah, like you did before. Next you'll be saying you'll only own one bike and one car. [1] I can do anything I could before - it just hurts.
Never heard any evidence of that. Certainly not accepted medical wisdom. Maybe some old wives know better.
Don't smoke. Move around rather than sitting in front of the TV. Eat healthy food. Take a decent multi-vitamin/mineral supplement (pointless when you're healthy, but can help when injured). -- Veggie Dave http://www.iq18films.co.uk "To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin." Quite likely. Sounds vaguely familiar. Ahh, here we go. Yes, you posted about it. I didn't. http://groups.google.com/group/uk.r..._frm/thread/261ac8a756dfcc4c/17a2ae16400a08cb And lookie here - you couldn't find any evidence then either

No idea but I might speculate that drinking lots of milk or some other calcium rich supplement might be a start.
Good balanced diet, with possibly a litle extra cacium. Also ask your fracture clinic about TENS or similar electrical stimulation.
