Ebay don't inspect, they rely on other users to report. If you're
selling stuff that some other no-life is selling you'd better make
sure

Agree. Ebay will let you demand cash as means of payment after an
auction is completed, but won't allow you to say you accept cash in
the auction details. Daft.

Really? I put "Comedy financial instruments are not accepted: cash
or cheques for the correct amount will do nicely." in my last
auction, and similar in others. Perhaps they weren't paying
attention.

I've just had a look at their rules:

"Sellers may accept COC (cash on collection) or cash in person
transactions."

"Sellers may not solicit buyers to mail cash. Sellers may not ask buyers to
send cash through instant money transfer services (non-bank, point-to-point
cash transfers) such as Western Union or Moneygram."

I wonder if they're having an issue with listings that don't make this
distinction clear.

Sounds like that's what I fell foul of. But they removed it within a couple
of minutes, before it had even reached the search pages, so I very much
doubt if it was reported by a user.
