    They have now mea culpa'd - it's the video that shows the 1490. It
    doesn't however show them putting it in the case. They did say "it's
    tight". I've now managed to squeeze mine in with the help of some WD40,
    so it'll do.

    Oooch. WD40? You don't want to go putting that anywhere near your
    nuvi, you know - it'll dissolve the seals around the case.

    I don't think there are any on a Nuvi. Not that it matters anyway as
    it's snug as a bug in its condom now.

    Seems that's easier said than done - it keeps saying my serial number's
    invalid. It's definitely one of those weeks where nothing's easy :-/

    there have been some issues with Garmin's website this week, from what I
    have read elsewhere. I suspect the have outsourced it to EDS. Give them a
    ring, they still have sensible people on the end of the phone.
