I want to fit a smaller tank to the old Tiger. It's the spine-framed
model, which I think probably limits my choices to Triumph or
custom-made tanks due to the width of the spine.

Anyone know which other models/years used the same frame so I can go
googling for pics to choose one?

Alternatively, I've got a spare original tank which I could try
modifying. However I'm not sure that cutting, bending & gluing the
somewhat thick plastic is ever going to work. Opinions?

The final option is to modify the custom-made aluminium tank on the
Fantic (I've still got the original fibreglass one to replace it with).
I think that's a bit too small though. Cutting out the base & welding
in extensions would probably give me the perfect solution, but sounds
    like too much work/money.

Rather a lot of work just so that people will stop saying it's pink,
    don't you think?

Yep, the Tiger changed frames after '98 when it went EFI. The workshop
manual shows three different frames depending on model, but I think
it's just the subframe that's different.

Had I thought of looking in the manual first, I would've seen the
options appear to be Trophy, Daytona, Trident, Sprint, Speed Triple,
Thunderbird & Adventurer (whatever the hell that is).

I'm making it more off-roadable[1] - or attempting to. The standard
tank's too tall & wide to get your weight forward in the corners, plus
it'll look ridiculous with the bodywork removed.

[1] Just for the challenge really.
