You say that as if it is a good thing. Original creatives to boring
    derivatives.

  2. Gotta move on, haven't you?

Of course originality is A Good Thing, obviously; nobody likes wierd music
more than I, but Floyd's career *has* been original at every step, IMO,
reflecting their improving capabilities as musicians over the years and the
technological advances in the equipment available to them. I think the only
thing dull about PF is Gilmour's solo albums which I just can't get into at
    all.

    Veggie Dave scribbled:
At what stage does it start to matter?

The "rough edit" gets closer and closer to the final release, at some
point you must decide that if that edit were pirated and put on P2P it
would loose you sales of the final product.

I think a "rough edit" of an album would loose far more sales of the
final album, seeing as people like live and concert versions of albums,
    and they're not "studio polished"

Basically I agree with WUN here, and any shouting you do about others
pirating IQ18 stuff will sort of seem hollow.

Bear? He'z just ziz guy, you know?
There's bound to be some people who get hold of this, who haven't got
the Wall CD, then decide to just copy the released CDs rather than
buying them. But yes, the lost income in this case will be relative
    peanuts.
In this instance, yes, but if the rough edit was made available before
the final cut the artist would loose money.

Since Daves comparing getting this rough edit of The Wall to people
getting access to a rough edit of an IQ18 video before its release
thats why I'm comparing it this way.

TBH I'm suprised Daves not bouncing off the walls about the rough edit
of the IQ18 video being available, I don't know what the downloads
consist of, I guess its just a series of clips that will eventually go
    into the video?
Flying pigs more like it, although I'd like to see Dave reach Mr Waters
stratospheric heights of income, be a nice reward for his work.

As Halla says, it's not a question of proof-reading, but of knowing
which is which in the first place. Like to/too, there/their etc. it's
very rare that the misuse is just a spelling mistake - it nearly
always makes the user look like an uneducated moron.

For some reason, that's the one 'typo' that really grates. I suspect
it's because with the other usual suspects (your vs you're, brake vs
break, too vs to etc), the words are at least pronounced the same, so
it's more understandable to confuse them.

Disagree as much as you like. I didn't say it makes you an uneducated
moron, just that it makes you _look_ like one. Which it does,
notwithstanding that other content may mitigate against that
    impression.
I'm not completely immune myself, you know. Less frequent than
yours[1], perhaps, but it still happens occasionally. Makes me cringe
    when I re-read it though.
    Quantity over quality, eh?

[1] You'd probably have put an apostrophe here, but I wouldn't.

Rubbish. Many of Champ's mistakes are indeed typo-type of things, but
not knowing, or seeing, the difference between Lose and Loose is
    something else altogether.

    Now don't. Do. It. Again.
