As wessie pointed out, it's a V-1000, so very different I'm afraid.

    Hey ho. Nevertheless...
I'll need info. Suppose I'll get it by riding it.

2004 with less than 5000 on it.
I don't know anything else about it, tell me.
It's a shitty green colour, looks like the posh version with
    extra panels below the seat.
    Should be arriving tomorrow.

You finally worked it out. Just ride the fucking thing. It's a modern bike
not some ancient crock of shite.

It's due a service at 6k. Service manual can be found here:

Well, I've only had the one Rotax-derived bike engine, but it's been
    absolutely fine so far.

I've only ever had one, but it seized several times and the big end
went. Still, that was a two stroke, and raced, so par for the course
    really.

That manual is for the 2005 onwards bike with the 660cc Yam engine.

As Bruce has pointed out, 04 bikes were the last of the Rotax ones.
    My bad.

The same site has a manual for the 1997 bike but looking at the
spec changes over the years, the 97 bike has carbs and yours should
have electronic injection. They don't seem to carry a manual for
your version ... nor do any of the other sites I have URLs for

    Much obliged.
Electronic injection! This is a first for me.
As are a lot of other things on this bike.

I collected the documents and among them was a nice thick
owner's manual, in Italian, French and German.
Have now downloaded 2 versions of the workshop manual in
English, 320 pages and 160 pages, FFS.
I'm not printing that lot out.

Next, insurance, first quote was a prohibitive £223 (Lynbrook).
Time for more calls to be made.
