Clem.... Mate... Cobber... Buddy... Pal... "I may be short but I ride a fucken bigger bike than any of you taller bastards!" was a literary creation of Betty's. She has the copyright on it. If you have a problem with it, I suggest you take it up with the young whippersnapper... Onya bike... Gerry
And while I'm on a roll, I might add that one could (I said COULD) suggest that if the guy was wishing he had a bigger penis, then it COULD be argued that you COULD be suffering from an as-yet-undiagnosed case of penis envy. One COULD say this, but being the gentleman and non-troll-like personage that I am, I would never dream of it... Still quivering with anticipation... Onya bike... Gerry
There is a difference, 2 is the bike-penis thing whereas 1 implies that she'd ride a shorter bike if a suitable shorter bike was available but one that meets the other requirements isn't available (for whatever reason). To be honest there aren't a lot of reasonable priced mid-sized V-Twins around either... G-S
That is, indeed, my impression. I tested the 1050 before I ordered the Triplet, and, while it had lots of grunt, it was a big and (IMHO) cumbersome beast, great as an open road blaster, but hard work to zip along twisties. It was also too tall for me to be comfortable. I prefer to get a bike which is slightly lower in the first place, and, if I can, adjust the rear up to where I feel comfy. Dunno about the 675R. Quite a few of the folk who got the Triplet have swapped in second hand Daytona rear shocks from Daytona folk upgrading, so how good is the Daytona shock? <shrug> Adjustable-ness on the front...dunno...with the change in spring on mine, properly setup, I'm happy and don't feel the need to fiddle any more. Brakes, for me, are perfectly adequate. I am not a daemon late-braker anyway, but I have given them a fair work out without any dramas. What is this "pwn"? regards, CrazyCam

But...that's exactly what Triumph did, made a girlie version of the Speed Triple. You are a giant, compared to Bren Lesslie. Probably before your time at aus.moto, but Daren and Bren used to hang about here. Bren is petite (she told me so, after I called her tiny!) and had great difficulty in finding a reasonable road bike, although she rode a GP 125 at track days and race meetings. I lent her my Z50 for one of the Pink Ribbon rides, a few years ago, and she seemed to have a great time of it. Certainly she didn't look as ridiculous as I must do, riding it. regards, CrazyCam
At the risk of alienating (again???) the entire NG, I think the whole sport-bike thing is a "my dick is bigger than your dick" thing. Of course mine could just be a case of "sport bike envy"... There could be a PHD thesis in this thing somewhere... Which reminds me of Australia Day weekend 1994... Some dude at UNSW had just finished writing his thesis in the wee hours and was so "over the moon" about it, he got on his bike and went for a blat up Library Hill. Hit the concrete at Library tunnel. Died instantly. Ten years worth of part time study, and a whole life, blown away in a five-second adrenalin hit. There's got to be a moral in there somewhere... Onya bike... Gerry
Thanks G-S Gerry seems to be having some comprehension issues - or perhaps he's just being stubbornly obtuse. Naaaaaaah, not Gerry... ;-) betty
In aus.motorcycles on Fri, 24 Oct 2008 06:49:14 +1100 I certainly would like the Norge to be the same size as the 850T. ON the T I was flat footed and knees bent, and it was certainly adequate in the power stakes. If I could have got a lighter throttle (and the only way to do that would be to retrofit fuel injection...) then I'd still be riding it. The Norge is too tall for me but I ride it because it does everything I want superbly well. If the V750 Classic had been available and I could have put my ugly-as-a-hatful fairing on it I would have been tempted as I think it would pull a trailer OK. It has the same power as my old T after all. If the 850 Norge had been a small block and so smaller physically I'd have bought that - but it is just a neutered 1200. So put me in the "I wish the bike was a bit smaller, if they made one that was smaller and lighter but had the fairing and luggage I'd have bought it!" camp. Zebee - still missing the T heaps.
There's probably been one already, well, perhaps not specifically on bike/pensx envy... About 18 months ago, someone here reported seeing a crashed bike and an (apparent) body under a sheet somewhere in the Central/Redfern/ Chippendale area (the Sydney one). That guy (Dr Nicola Bruti-Liberati) was awarded his PhD posthumously, his fiance accepted the award at the same ceremony at which I graduated. He was (again posthumously) awarded the Chancellor's award for the best PhD thesis at our university in 2007. A brilliant quantitative financier, apparently. Being the next motorcycle riding PhD student in line in the same faculty isn't comfortable. There's lots of eyes on me now!!! Bikes and doctorates don't mix? GB
Betty, none of us really thought you had a bigger dick. You're quite fortunately really. My daughter says she's 5' but I know she's 4' 11 1/2". She's going to be forced to buy a Harley, they're designed for the low crowd. Theo
