  2. The way the OE page is set up on this laptop made that second line a perfect
punchline as I couldn't see it until I scrolled it up a bit :)

Thinking of getting a private plate,

    N 1 V xx

    xx is any letters

    BUT, will I get pulled if I have the plate as;

    N1V
    xx

I mean, it'll be fully readable, but not strictly legal.

    Regards, Niv.

I have an incorrectly-spaced personal plate on a car, and I've not been
stopped once in the 4 years I've had it. I suppose if you drive or ride
like a bit of a **** then it gives plod a cast-iron reason to pull you
over -- so for that reason alone it's probably not a great idea on a
    bike.

You may also have problems getting someone to make up the
incorrectly-spaced plate for you. The people who I eventually persuaded
to make mine up called it a "showroom plate" and wrote this on the back
in permanent marker, and warned me they wouldn't be responsible for any
consequences of using it on a public road.

I do generally agree with SteveH's opinion of personal numberplate
owners though, even though he is Welsh. I can only plead drunken
exuberance and a short period of having-more-money-than-sense as
    possible mitigating circumstances.

    Chris Cowley says...
He's not really Welsh, he's an immigrant. He's from Manchester
originally, but not even the thieving Mancs wanted to make a claim to
    him.
