Arguably a bit silly to launch straight into the "immature twats" approach,
though. Is this part of Yitzhak's 'racial stereotype' personality, perhaps,
rather than Desmond's; getting the retaliation in first, and then acting all
offended and self-righteous when the other side reacts, saying "see, I told
you all along, that's what those people are really like?"

Well I wasn't aware that Jewish was a nationality....

One does not necessarily need to be religious, to be Jewish. I've never
made a secret of that; I rarely mentioned it here, but on the death
penalty newsgroup where I post, it's been known for (IIRC) fourteen
years.

My French nationality (probably) won't be any use soon. I've been here
for probably twenty out of the past twenty five years. And if we have a
'President Sarkozy' in a week's time.... I've already been sujected to
one anti-Semitic attack because I was wearing a kippa (what you might
know as a yarmulke) in public. If Sarko wins on Sunday, the divisions
between Jew and Arab are going to get even deeper.

I'll be leaving France soon, I fear.

Well, no, but if you look at the first posts from this visit, you'll see
that I posted on French for someone who'd asked about verbs or
something. I posted that there were only two tenses in English, and one
of the first responses I got was from Ace, accusing me of having 'set a
trap' or something, by only counting verbs without auxillaries.

I posted in that thread, and I repeat: I didn't come looking for a
flamewar. The final months the last time around _were_ characterised by
trolling on my part, and trying to irritate the shit out of some people,
but I'd come to the conclusion that everyone detested me anyway, and so
what was there to lose? That sort of shit gets tiresome after a while,
and if I want invective, insults and rhetoric (in both directions), AADP
has more than enough for my needs.

Thanks. I actually only came back to find Wik, 'cos I owe him £25. As
you might know, my Mac laptop was stolen in the street in August 2005,
and I've only in the past few months scraped enough money together to
buy a new Mac Mini. All of my e-mails went with the iBook, so I don't

posters, and with an apparent, and unsuccessful, intention to make
yourself look clever.

These are traits of the old Des, and given that I was unaware of your
apparent rebirth[1] they just seemed to exhibit exactly the same sort
of behaviour we'd grown weary of in the past. You then take offence
and start whingeing about being picked on. Plus ça change...
