I've been an appreciator of plumb-bobs since I was 12 or 13 and I can
honestly say I never leave home without one. Not a day goes by where I'm
looking at a doorway or other vertical structure and wonder if it's true, I
simply pull out my trusty plumb-bob and string and I have to wonder no more.

One of the best things is when you greet a friend and they say 'how's it
    hanging'.

my first job out of school was a chainman, I preferred the brush cutter, when a machete
is not enough. very much like Death's blade except it was curved, you could swing it hard
and slice a thin tree down, the trick is to cut down on an angle.

the best part of being a chainman is when you're in thick scrub and the surveyor says clear
a line 50 meters in that direction, and you spend the next hour cutting it down to shreds clearing
    a path.

yep. the pointy end is very useful. If you don't like them stick it up
the arse. causes much fun and amusement when they say is that a
    plumb-bob up my arse.

Yes, so I cracked, sought out the defininition of a "plum-bob".

Useful in a structural sense, I guess, but no way to cut ice at a
    party.
