Police now targeting "Motorcycle Speeding"

Saw this on the 'Operation Southroads' signs near Bredbo and Cooma today.

Talk about discriminatory - don't know why motorcyclists are being
    singled out for special attention!!

Surely there'd be more speeding ski bunnies in this area at this time of
year than there would be motorcyclists (let alone speeding motorcyclists!)

I also saw a couple of these signs in the Illawarra today. One at Albion
Park and the second at Warrawong.

I decided to go back and take a few pics to prove it to people and will be
forwarding them to MCC or someone else as it smacks of discrimination.

If the police are targeting motorcycle speeding it raises at least 2
    questions.

    1. Are motorcycles the only things speeding
    2. Are they insinuating that it is safe for other vehicles to speed as they
    will not be pulled over

I laugh at those signs, nobody tells me thats what were doing today,
especially when ppl change it to gay people and crack whores..

just a wanky PR thing and they are errected by the RTA, as they pay for and
basicly own Highway Patrol... so dont think highway patrol and real police
    are alike...

  4. I heard the same from a mate in highway, its just a joke... e.g. how do
you 'target' "Driver Fatigue" ? That was one recently in Wollongong...
    just a PR thing.

  5. Hey Garry,

When you get the pics back, could you put them on the net so that we can
download them? I'd be keen to send a letter or 1000 off to my local member
about it. It's getting close to election time after all.

Unfortunately for us the HWP have the power to take our money, so no matter
how much we all agree that they're cunts, they'll continue to take it.

the use of "that" C word indicates a degree of use for the hwp that's a
total lie , I suggest you refrain from such usage and submit a less
    useful descriptive.

They are on a digital so all I need to do is work out how to get them on the
    web (ie. need some websapce).

But if you want them in the meantime then leave a message and I will try to
    get them to you.

As mentioned, I intend to send them to the bike press to start things
    rolling.

That would be funny, I haven't seen any like that. Every time I see one, I
get more tempted to alter it to "Now Targeting... Wallets & Purses"

A couple of weeks back in the Temple Street night market in Kowloon, all
the dodgy DVD sellers packed up in seconds when the word flashed through
that the police had arrived[1]. But the banner strung across the side
of the minivan the cops were using announced that they were involved in
a special effort on Street Prostitution.

There may be some scope for interpretation there.....

    Moike

[1] and set up shop again in seconds when the police had passed through.

    Maybe.

I'm waiting for the Vic government to instruct its SS troops to start
targetting shiftworkers, coming home after a nightshift....

  16. Yeah well, we can't allow to much "Road Safety" to happen, think of the
    impact on general revenue!!!

  17. I didn't get pulled over once for not wearing a seatbelt when they were
    targeting that...
    These "blitzes" are a joke...

Funny, I heard a cage driver make the same sort of complaint when they
were targetting seatbelts. Why single out car drivers and leave
    motorcyclists alone!!!

    Moike is of the opinion:
Because we don't have to wear seatbelts, while car drivers have to obey the
    speed limits?

Anyway, who wants to attached to a sliding bike anyway? When I go black
bits up I want to be *far* away from the flying chunk of metal...
