In another thread a while back, I jokingly mentioned our household
poltergiest. I described it as too weak to throw things or move things so
it specialises in making things topple over. Well...the fucker got the
V-strom this morning. I was starting out to work when I realised that I
had left something in the house. I got off and put the bike on the
sidestand on the driveway. I went back into the house and came out again
a couple of minutes later. I then walked up to the bike, which was
exactly as I had left it. Before touching it I turned back again to check
that the front door was locked. As I turned my back and walked a
couple of steps back down the drive I heard the crunch as the strom hit
the ground. I looked round and it was just lying there - no kids running
away or anything of that sort to explain it.

Damage - one indicator one plastic handguard. I could understand it if it
was on soft ground or hot-weather-melting tarmac but I could find no
obvious reason why it had fallen. Probably down to it being a bit more
upright than usual and a freak gust of wind but...(cue spooky music)it all
    seemed a bit odd.

Which way did it fall ?.
One of my previous bikes ( a Jawa FWIW ) had a habit of rolling forward
off of the sidestand at the least provocation. Something to do with
the geometry of the sidestand not going far enough over centre.
Cleaning out a load of crud and replacing the pivot bolt helped but
some bikes seem to be prone to this.

I heard the crunch as the strom hit
I may be generously proportioned but I do NOT create a gravitational field
of sufficient strength to topple a bike!
