The RTA is considering changes to the licensing scheme for drivers under 26,
some of these changes could affect riders.

Further information can be found at www.youngdrivers.com.au

The options aren't numbered but they are divided into category 1, 2 and 3.
Calling the first option in category 1, 1.1 and the second one 1.2 etc the
RTA have advised that options 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 2.3 and 3.1 could potentially
    effect motorcycle riders.

    That is:-
1.2 Increase the minimum tenure period for Learners from 6 months to 12
months (however the minimum tenure for rider L's is currently 3 months)
1.3 Increase the Provisional age to 18 years
1.4 Increase the role for secondary schools in driver training
2.3 Modify the demerit point structue
3.1 Introduce night driving restrictions between 10pm and 5am

  2. And perhaps more significantly, isn't the current _maximum_ "tenure" for
rider L's in NSW only 6 months?

    Uncle Bully,

You can post your comments here or send them to me or the MCC. I just need
comments so the MCC can summaries what riders think and make a submission by
    the end of Feb.

    Safe riding,
