That'll be it. The song is 'Hey Ya' by Outkast and is played to death on
the radio so I'm amazed you haven't heard it.
You probably *have* heard it but erased it from memory upon realising there
    was no gratuitous guitar solo.

I'm with you old people. Not heard the original song on Radio 4 or 5.

  8. I suppose you'd have to like or be familiar with the original to see the
joke. As it is, I haven't a clue what the original is, so the joke falls
flat and all I can see is a fairly bad animation with a crap song.

Oh - I thought the animation was *superb* - for Flash (or whatever it is) -
(Where's Porl when you need him?)

FWIW it's a humorous & topical interpretation of an already humorous top-10
    song with some excellent animation.

  10. If you had heard the song or seen the video for the Hey Ya track by
Outkast then you would know. I mean the track has only been number one
in the US for over 4 weeks and in the Top 10 in the UK. The album is
    also very good IMO.

Try listening to Paul Gambaccini's Radio 2 show on a Saturday evening -
that should just fall within your listening remit.

Not my usual bag but I enjoyed the album too.

Bamboo (track 10 on CD1) cracked me up. Presumably D-Boi's 3yr old son
stepping up to the mic' to 'wap'..... "mudda-fugga!"

To this day I find it hard to understand how anyone could wear their
ignorance as a badge of honour.

For someone who enjoys taking a contrary position on some things (e.g.
not joining in the rat race) you can be pretty condescending, y'know.
Hmm. Sat evening doesn't really fit my "listening to the radio"
    profile.

  16. I didn't intend to be condescending.
Listen Again via the Radio 2 website - that's what I do.

    Ah, yes - good point.

  18. You can't forget this one, if only for the line "shake it like a
polaroid picture" in the bridge, to which a rather straightlaced
colleague remarked "but I thought one shook it like a tail feather".

You probably had to be there... ;o)

  19. Made me go back and listen to their Stonkonia CD...I'd forgotten about
their BOB song (Bombs over Baghdad) - the Gulf clearly hitting a raw
    nerve for them.

Mind you, the lyrics don't seem to have that much to do with Bombing
Baghdad, although at te end they're going on bout Bob your head, rag
top. Which is *apparently* about convertibles. But I draw a different
    conclusion.

Blah di blah, wibble flip, ding a dong...
