For my local area, they're a lot more detailed on Live, Google earth
only seems to have detail around ast Midlands Airport and Donington
    Park.

I put the Live maps at around 2004(ish) using local knowledge, I still
had my old car, there are a load former industrial building converted to
posh flats type developments missing, MattG's last house wasn't built,
and there's a red golf parked on a friend's driveway.

  2. I'm London, so they are pretty detailed on both - although Live doesn't seem
    to zoom as much.
Yeah, Live for me is pre-2004. Google Earth is early 2006.

The (Microsoft) images are much higher res and more recent of the area
where I live compared to google's.

AOL. MS Live shows my neighbour's pond which he built a couple of years
ago (Google doesn't), & on Live I can clearly see the MuddyStuff
stickers on the side of my Jeep, & a couple of people walking down the
road. Everything's a blur on Google by comparison.

The Live low-level 3D photos have proved very useful when looking for
renovation properties over the past few months. In most cases I've been
able to find the house just from the road name & photo on the estate
agent's details, & view it from all 4 sides to see how it compares to
others in the same road that have sold. Very handy when trying to work
out how much potential profit there is.

Heh! Live shows my old pug with the bonnet up. A very rare occurrence.

The views of France are no better than Google Earth. Nowhere near as
high resolution as Mappy (though those are very old TBF).

Around us they're not available at either of the two higher res sizes.
Google Earth is much better, albeit still 3-4 years old.
