    Hi Yall,

Am kina newbie to sports bikes, i took MSF course and got pretty
excited and bought 1999 R6 2 weeks ago. I kina ran into this prob
y'day, and was seekin advise from experts here.

Since i bought it; switching gears (i.e going from gear#1 to 2, or 2 to
3 etc.) was not as smooth as i've seen in other bikes. After 2 weeks of
fun riding; it died on me, and it won't shift gear from #1 to any other
gear. It goes in nuetral whenever i try to go from #1 to higher gears.

I called couple of dealers around, and what they are tellin me is that
it could be a transmission problem, however they say that they can't
give me rough estimate unless they take a look at it.

    1. I was wondering what do you guys think problem could be. and fixing
it coule cost me how much?

    2. I am located in Irving, TX. Would appreciate if u cud recommend any
good repair shop around, for this job.

    3. If repair is going to cost me a lot, i am thinking of scraping this
    bike, and sell these parts.

Bike is overall in quite good condition (rebuild title), with few minor
scratches on fairings. It got brand new tires (just abt 300 miles on
'em), with Jardine pipe. What do yall think, i should expect to sell it
    for ?

Thanks in advance for your time and help. greately appreciate it.
