Problems with groups?

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by crazycam.manson, Dec 13, 2008.

  1. Hi folks.

I seem to be having problems getting at aus.moto.

aioe.cjb.net doesn't seem to want to talk to me, and
news.optusnet.com.au reckons there are no new messages on the
    server.....for the last four days!

Any one else having same difficulties?

    regards,CrazyCam

Both the Internode server and the news.individual.net server have been
    getting plenty of new messages.

Yes, both of my newswervers are having coniptions at the moment.
Probably something to do with the alignment of Venus with Neptune, or
maybe the unfavourable pattern made when the guts pf the chook lands
on the ground. Whatever, I'm sure it will get better.

I can't really help you with this problem Cam, but can we direct Gerry and
    George to your provider?

    Cheers,
    Dale.

I have no idea about the subtler nuances which might underly such a
complex concept as Harsh Week, especially if Iain is involved, Johnno.
It's never been explained to me.

But I don't like people who elelvate themselves to either of the
    following positions:

[1] Speaking on behalf of the group (using "we" and '"us" instead of
"I" and "me") when that's not in their job description.

[2] Attempting to convince certain people (those they don't like)
that they should leave the group. It's nothing less than intolerance
of difference. It's the baseline of the monoculturalist's way of
    thinking.

This is an unmoderated Usenet group. If the likes if IK or Dale, or
their running dogs (they know who they are), don't like someone they
can easily either killfile them, or, much more simply, just abseil
past their name in the message list. Easy peasy, I do it all the
time. But to get on your control-freak soap box is not just
    un-Australian, it's un-ausmoto, I'd suggest.

I hate fucking control freaks! Many of them are wife-bashers as
well, Johnno. Did you know that ? ;-)

Now, Yeebo... read again what I said... It's cleare I meant it in
another way. Here... I'll help you by breaking up the phrases:

    I hate - - - - fucking control freaks

    Think about it, Yeebok...

I'm clearly saying that I hate control freaks who are fucking.

    Welcome to English 101.

Think about what you wrote. It was "I hate fucking control freaks". If
it were as you're posthumously claiming .. you'd have inserted "who are"
or "that are" in your statement.. or if going for wordsmith points, you
    may have used "whom".

There's no other way to interpret it.

let me guess... you were voted most likely to be shot by your own
troops? pity they didn't follow through

as lest the likes of IK or Dale, or their running dogs actually turn
up to Aus.moto functions.. good blokes too

tell me Adolf, how many Aus.moto functions or get togethers have you
    be too?

    you are trash

Just because I like reading SOME of the input to this NG, doesn't mean
I want to rub shoulders whith all of you. And some certainly would
not want ot rub shoulders with me.
I've been on a few runs, back in the days when these runs would be
    organised in this group.
Then you're taking with trash. why do you bother?

It just so happens that aioe will be doen until the admin can travel the
    500KM to the server, and:

The Optus server has also had problems this week as well.

Try http://news.tornevall.net - Been very reliable for the past year or
so and is free. You'll need a register though.

    Can I be a walking-dog Gerry?
Actually; even walking's a bit of a stretch these days since the mangled leg
and subsequent thrombosis, necrosis and ever-present edema!
Is there such a thing as a sitting-dog?
