    All,

I was out mustering on the Chook-Chaser the other morning. I was pulled up
waiting for stock to run through a gate, and I revved the bike to keep them
moving. I noticed the speedo(LCD Digital) was acting as a rev-counter.
High revs had me doing over 90kph, and an idle was back to 0kph. It kept
doing this until I put it in gear, and moved off. I havent seen it doing
    this again since.

Am I seeing something like an impending failure of voltage regulation, an
impending battery failure, or is there something else? I am a bit at a loss
to see how the speedo could be reflecting engine revs, but then I dont know
how these units convert the mechanical input from the front wheel to an
electronic signal. The bike is the electric start model, and I have ridden
(an obviously started) it a number of times since.

Or should I not worry about it? I didnt note whether the odometer was
counting over as well; I was a bit surprised to see I was doing 95 with my
    feet on the ground!

    Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

    Cheers,

naa, it'll fail or not regardless of operator concern.

it is most likely that you have a bad connection somewhere twixt speedo and
wheel, translating engine vibration into speed pulses.
