Xerox did the same. About 50% of the 1200 direct staff were from Manpower.

The £17.50 will includes all holiday pay accrual, payroll, HR, induction
training, disposal of fuckwits etc. The other thing that seemed to be
important to our local management was the ability to disguise headcount
from the bean counters in the US parent, by covering the costs in non-
    labour cost centres.

    Yes.

However, I'm off up an Alp or two. Rees has a gig at a Dutch Zydeco
festival on Saturday and then Towersey Festival on Monday.

So, **** Shewbies, as my nephew used to call it.

Indeed, Xerox rates as the most fucked up place I did IT contracting at.
Over 100 diskless workstations on a single thicknet segment, imagine
the collisions when the power bounced and they all tried to boot......

We managed to push through a major technology replacement but by the
time it was working the place was looking increasingly doomed for
    other reasons.

God, I hate painting and decorating ;-)

Tiling and joinery I like though.

    Cheers,

Ahh. So do I. Still, beggars/choosers, eh?
What about installing an entire kitchen then?

    <thinks>

On credit. Don't think I can afford it this year.

Speak for yourself golden plumbing man.

You and me both are (still) 2 dwelling owners ;)
Hell fire. The Alsace one or the Swiss one ?

The Alsace one looked in good order the last time I was in it.
Oh dear. How the mighty fall from grace. Any ways around, i'm happy to
do some travelling. Don't they call it a 'working holiday' ?

    Cheers,

    Paul.

Well it was the best room in the house, IYSWIM, so lowest down the
list, but fundamentally we _need_ to get a proper range cooker, and
after eight years of using a fucking electric one I'm starting to
think it's now or never. The rest of the kitchen is OK, ish (although
the built-in fridge packed in last month) but nothing special - work
surfaces crack if you hit them with a bag of ice, for example.
Hah. Well, J's potentially (although probably not) unemployed from
December, and we'd paid cash for the new motor last year, and, and,
well, it's more the uncertainty than anything, you know.
Cool. Any time you're passing, like...
