Stunned, I am. Needed one of those tiny but vital parts: a brake pad
retaining pin (of which more, later) and couldn't find one (Wemoto
couldn't help except to recommend Fowler's).

Enter Startright Motorcycles of Leeds, who run a decent website with
pictures from which one may discren what the item actually looks like:

Rang 'em up yesterday at about 11:30 and spoke to a fine chap called
Martin. He pulled a couple of pins out of their bins and measured them
for me, succeeding in finding a compatible one.

It just arrived in a thoroughly sellotaped if slightly secondhand Jiffy
bag, complete with R clip - for a fiver including postage. Now that's
service, that is. If only the whole world worked on the same premise.

Step up, Startright Motorcycles, and take your bow.

  2. A mate of mine has a Rotary Norton he bought from them about 10 years
ago, and consequently has fairly regular contact with them, and he
can't speak highly enough of them.

I found BVM Moto in Stroud like that. I only needed a brake caliper
washer and they gave me a few free. Compare that with the BMW place in
Bristol who don't appear to know their arse from their elbow and don't
    seem particularly friendly.
