That'll be the K1100LT gone then, parked in another UKRMers garage and
    awaiting its new owner (Nige).

And I shall be picking up my new commuter bike sometime next week.
Which of course happens to be another BMW[1]...

An R1150RT in pretty much immaculate condition, 25k on the clock and
it's been looked after by Brian (my highly recommended BMW specialist)
    for a long time.

[1] As I pointed out to Lozzo, my "commuter bikes" are a business tool
and as such, I normally don't fiddle with them myself as they just
*have* to run. And I've got a really good mechanic looking after BMWs,
so changing makes would also entail finding someone of his calibre to
look after whatever else I'd be getting. And people like that aren't
    that easy to find.

Would be interested in how the fairing compares to the K.

I've checked the Pan compared to the K and the Pan fairing is poor even
with the wind deflector kit fitted.

Slightly less protection to the upper body, but otherwise it seems to
be pretty good. The 1100LT does have a slight edge though.

The truth is, even Timo doesn't want a bike that's been maintained by Timo.

Oh come on the late R-RT and RS fairings are utter shit by comparison to
the earlier models. I suppose it was form over function, except IMHO all the
newer ones look utterly gash and the older models looked pretty timeless.

Only a Polaris full fairing gives the same weather protection as a K1100LT.
