Protective Clothing Standards

    For what its worth, SPIDI make very good stuff and I doubt youd have a

    I have a pair of their cordura/goretex trousers, and love 'em. They
    outlasted the Dririder jacket bought at the same time by, well, so far 2
    years.

    If it wasn't for that, I'd think it was the whole gortex et al
    waterproof layer idea that was breaking down, as my Dririder Alpine
    did over 10 years hard slog, and Clare's Rivet equivalent is still
    going strong.

    But as it is, and given things like zips failing and buttons and
    stitching coming undone... I think it's bad QC. The more expensive gear
    is seemingly made to a better standard.

    trouble is that most of the more expensive jackets don't have the style
    of pockets I like, and as my main jacket carries a lot of stuff....
