    Bear says...
I doubt very much has changed. Ohlins are still selling exactly the same
dampers[1] as they were 4 years ago, but with different fitting kits to
suit new models. Sprint are doing pretty much the same thing.

[1] Going by the dampers part numbers for 5 yr old models as opposed to
    new models of bikes.

But then you don't get any guarantee from the UK distributor.

Does your bike really stand on its end when you open it up or are you
just trying to carry on with the media induced hype that the 10R is a
    dangerous bike to ride?

Mine only wheelies when I want it to or if I hit a significant bump in
the road and I hammer the **** out of it nearly every time I ride it.

  5. Try changing down three gears and whacking the throttle open. As you
know It's far more lively than the ZX9...

I think that would fall into the "when I want it to" category.

  7. This is true, or on the other hand I might still not want it to stand on
end, just take off like a scolded rat without it trying to be a stunt.

I fancied the Akrapovic but they are being fitted as standard now so I opted
    for the Micron.

BTW, you can now pick up the Akrapovic cans for under 600 quid.

I know it's got more go in it than a 9R, that might be a reason why I
decided I needed one. Do you really drop 3 gears and whack the
throttle open? I can't think of any time I'd do that unless I wanted
to pose by popping 100mph wheelies on a motorway.

  11. I've done it at least once on the ZX9 to stop my mate on his Blackbird
getting past. I could hear him changing down the box behind me, he has a
noisy exhaust on it. It did pop the front wheel in the air a bit but
    nothing special.

I think I would end up sat in the road if I tried that on the ZX10 :)
