    Flat wound because they have fewer ridges. Ernie Ball "Slinky's" are
    popular, although I prefer the tone of bronze wound and getting your fingers
    off the strings and back on at a different position quietly is all part of
    the guitar playing experience. You won't want to use flat wound strings
    forever either as they lack "something", so it's probably a good idea to get
    used to "lightly" touching the strings when you move around from note to
    note/chord to chord.
