Meeting an old Septic friend - who's on a flying visit - over the weekend.
I recall [>10 years ago] that the Anchor, by Pyrford Lock, was a scenic
place to enjoy a pint just yards off the A3. Is it still any good? What's
the food like? The idea is for a catch-up chat and a wander round the
marina or up the tow-path. I'm not after an astonishing gastro-experience,
but if the food and beer are truly horrible I'll go somewhere else.

I cycled 20 miles down there the other week. It's closed. Re-opens May.

I'll expand on this glowing review .. the building is totally shelled and is
    a building site.

It was lovely back in '79.

Ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Thank you. Once again, ukrm really is invaluable. So,
it'll probably be one of the pubs in Ripley, then!
