An old friend of mine used to have a small printing machine repair company
and the premises had no toilets, so the guys would all piss in a bucket.

So I know what you mean :)

  2. I've just bought a serious FOAD chain tool.

My old scissors type, which wasn't up to big chains anyway, died, and I
bit the bullet and shelled out £50 on a proper one.

Did the chain on Number One Son's 250 Super Dream with it last weekend -
piece of piss. Having the right *proper* tools don't half make it
    easier.

That was the annoying thing about me experience TOG. I've *got* a FOAD
splitter, but I'dlent mine to a neighbour and he hadn't brought it back. He
    has now though.
IIRC the one I got was about 85 squid. Massively over engineered unless a
scaff bar is needed, but for normal use, it'll last a couple of lifetimes
and make the joining of new chains a joy.
I've farted and grunted using what's lying around too many times in the past
to even think about it anymore. I bought a little tool porn today for that
reason. It's a spinner for 1/4 drive sockets (a speed brace we used to call
'em). Nice, shiny and Snap-on. Fucking 45 bastard quid. I nearly fell off
    the floor.
