    On last nights commute.

Filtering to the front of two static lines of cars, and trying to time
it just right so the lights we green when I got there.

The lights hit green just as I got adjacent to the cars mirrors, then
unusually; I managed to miss first gear. I wasn't that close to
either of the cars at ll but:

It was then, as I accelerated away from the cars, that I felt
something hit my left boot. It was the left cars front tyre.

I felt my foot alternatively hit the wheel arch and car tyre a number
of times before being released. The fucker on the left must have
veered to the right, the (rear of his!) tyre lifting my boot up and
    off the peg. Eeek !

Um, you mean you got so stupidly close to the car that your foot was
touching the wheel? Bloody clumsy - good job you didn't damage it or
    he could have sued you.

I am sure the car came at me. As I thought I had made obvious.

Filter like a mad filtering thing I might, but this is one thing I go to
lengths to avoid. I do *not* want to be between cars as they set off.
Who knows at what angle they'll pull away at. Any chance of those
lights changing before I get to the front and I cut my losses and tuck
in behind the lead car. The opportunity to pass will arrive soon.

On the rare occasion I would find myself in no mans land like that I
would always make a point of letting the cages go first and taking them
as they changed into 2nd the other side of the junction. Didn't happen
    that often though.

It wasmissing that gear that did it.

The car on the left was damn quick - a Supra I think.
