02/04 Two Wheels suggests that holding a car licence for a total period of 3
years, excluding any period of cancellation or suspension, implies
eligibility to R class licence immediately (as opposed to RE) through QRIDE.

Does this mean that person X, who held their licence for 1 year, then lost
it for another year, then held it again for 2 years is eligible, since they
held their licence for a total of 3 years, however, they have not held it
for 3 years from last application ?

This is my understanding of the words of Two Wheels, which contradicts what
I previously thought (don't know why I thought it).

    Advice is appreciated.

    See: http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/qt/driver.nsf/index/qride_advantages

It clearly explains that the 3 years of holding an unrestricted licence must
occur within a 5 year period.

That's what I thought as well, but I can't remember why I thought that.
Perhaps it *was* the case, and it has been revised since.
