    Looks genuine to me!
(And my new house is going to have a similar problem that I haven't quite
figured out a solution to yet)

Apparently it's in a local suburb. Gunna go for a ride this arvo and have a
    look for it...

Why do you latch onto that as evidence of it being a Photochop?

The pole was there before the house and the driveway. When the driveway
was being put in, they steered clear of the pole so as not to disturb
    its foundations.

As the house clearly has a double garage (note the size of the
LandCruiser ute parked next door), each half of the driveway should be
    capable of accomodating a car.

To be honest, if I couldn't be arsed paying to have a powerpole
relocated, I'd've done the exact same thing.

I find the azure render on the outside of the house next door
    considerably more nonsensical.

Seen plenty of instances of this. In two that I know of (in Victoria) the
builder forgot to mirror-image the plans.

In another instance, the builder built a house on an angle across the block,
which mean that the owner couldn't get his car into the garage. The builder
    didn't get paid.

"Builder" is another word for "carpenter sick of paying tax".

Nah, it's an obvious fake. The mudguards on the ute
next door are the same colour pink as the power pole.

Supporting evidence true, notice the lack of shadow coming from the
tomato stakes around the small tree though

    Dunno..

I see tomato stake shadows in the grass right where I would expect them to
    be...

    ?

Look at the shadows and see what? So they look right. Doesn't mean anything
does it? You teach Photoshop. I thought you would whip up a shadow in no
    time.

No, but quality of same does say something...

Can you see dead people too ? :)

Stuffed if I can see any, the letterbox has a shadow, the little palm
tree/shrub thing next to it has a shadow, buggered if I can see any
    tomato stake shadows.

Dunno but thought the pole might have been moved from next to the tomato
    stakes.

....and then the artist drew in the details of the bits of the house which were
    previously obscured by the pole?
