question about insurance claim to claim or not?

bit the bullet and bought him another bike, didnt claim on the
insurance but brought the bike back to my address and will have a go
repairing it and either sell it or use it myself.

Looking closely at the bike it may not be so bad.

The tank is slighlty dented but not leaking, the battery box has been
ripped out that may repair, the speedo is smashed, the brake cable
and clutch cable have been cut, the chain looks like it may need
replacing, the clutch grip has been smashed and somehow the indicator
stalk on the near side has been bent at the base plus the headlight
has been smashed.

have coasted the bike down the drive and it rides true but the front
brakes are catching, the battery has been disconnected, not sure about
the ignition barrel yet.
There is a box which looks like an electronic ignition unit hanging
down but the wires havent been cut.

Will price the parts up on ebay and consider any offers for sale if
any come along.

Time to learn about bikes again!!!!
