  2. Yeah, but thats not what UB has been whining about - he didn't start out
saying "there's this disabled parking spot that isn't of any use to
disabled people I reckon they should remove the restrictions", he is
still arguing that the problem is that the fine for parking in disabled
spaces is too high - he stated a few posts back that he reckons the fine
should be "under $50", presumably because then he'd perfectly happily
park in disabled spot when it suited him 'cause he can afford that sort
    of money.

    Not by my recollection Zebee.
I can't remember anyone NOT copping 300+ replies [assuming they also made
    the Bully-like 100 whinges].

  4. Errrmmm, right.

Can you post up a list of all the "vigilantes" who've "assaulted you"
    over this?

You _really_ are the victim here aren't you Bully? Disabled people
really don't understand just how hard life is for you...

They partition the council for more spots.
And if they find non-disability-permit people in their spots they partition
the council for greater enforcement and penalties.

    They fine you $384.
If your head doesn't understand that they just keep on fining you until the
    problem is solved.

The 'CHANCE' that someone else will be hurt as a result of negligence
_should_ impact on the severity of the penalty.

In this case it does, which is why I see it as an 'appropriate' penalty.

Yeah I was pretty gobsmacked when I realised that the gumbiment actually
got something 'about right' for a change too ;-)

    That's definitely bad.

I agree the question of that spot being badly designed and not useful
for a great number of disabled riders is not much to do with the size
of the fine, except a certain wooly feeling that parking *there* isn't
    as bad.

You mean you didn't just keel over and die because there wasn't any diasbled
    parks? I'm disillusioned now...

But surely possible consequences to yourself don't matter a hoot!
Otherwise we'd all be arrested because we could possibly step in front of a
truck and murder ourselves or possibly sexually assault ourselves.
Doing it to someone else earns a (deservedly) higher penalty though.
    Absolutely!
That's why drink-driving and speeding earn higher penalties than having a
blown tail-light bulb; because the CHANCE of them causing injurious
    consequences is much greater.
I can't really understand what it is you're saying.

Really? I love to see the scietific basis of the study done that produced

It didn't identify the curse that was the cause of my befuddlement?

  20. The fine is out of proportion to the offence in my opinion.

If it's that high the fine should be posted with the no parking sign.
