My colleague at work travels a long distance to come to work on his bike. Today, and from now on he will come in totally soaked and his kits doesn't dry out on our little radiators. What is the best solution? A dehumidifier in a large cupboard? A fan heater? Is there anything he can wear that means he won't get soaked through? He has proper heavy clothing but it still gets wet. Any help or advice gratefully received S.
Two sets of waterproofs. Ride to work in set A. Leave set A to dry at work during day and overnight, riding home in set B. Dry set B overnight at home, ready for ride-to-work use the following day. Leave set B to dry at work during day and overnight, riding home in set A. If this approach does not work, increase the number of waterproof suits owned until an acceptable solution is reached. :-) Caveat. Even the best textile kit can hang onto rainwater for quite some time. It took my BMW Goretex suit four days to dry out completely, after a day-long ride from Northampton to Bodmin and back in torrential rain during March 2005, even though not a drop got inside the suit.
