Well,I went out today and bought me a LOS Navigation System for my ride.Just
trying to keep up with the boys with the GPS systems. It is antiquated, but
    works.Can't wait now.

Shit, I wasn't aware Ed Hart needed ANY help finding his way
home....it's finding his way *from* home that's always been the
    problem!

I'm here to testify and set the record straight, I've been witness to
Ed Hart being as much as two states away from his home and on a
deserted country highway with no road signs. He got a slight hint he
was pointed in the direction of his house, and he took off. Damnedest
thing I'd ever did see! All I knew was a huge WHOOSH went by me and a
big blur. I says to myself "that must be a low flying aeroplane, or it
must be a missle or something. I went to counting motorcycles, and Ed
Hart wasn't amongst 'em. Ed Hart done out-run us motorcycles, the
highway patrol, and even the poor old woman trying to cross the street
    at the time. Whew!

Now, all that might seem amazing enough for everyone to take Ed along
on the ride to keep from getting lost, but if you do, you best be
having a saddlebag full of tow straps! He seems to have this magnetic
encoding that keeps him not wanting to point anywhere away from his
house. You have to pull the shit out of Ed to get him away from the
house, but turn him loose and he's gone again like a rebound!

Works well until 11:30am or on cloudy days...then everyone has to go
get a cup of coffee and wait for the "reboot"!

Another "bug" in that system was when a loop highway is involved with
    either of those others.

I am not surprised none out you ungens havent heard of an LOS System. They

There were many manufacturerers of them. All worked the same.Pretty
reliable. Not as accurate as a GPS.It will get ya close.

Either that, or he was 3/4 mile bringn' up the rear. He will cover your
    back, and good at it.
However, on the upcoming mountain rides, I'll be pretty close with him
    back there.

As many riders as might be, there should be two or more of us back
there, in case of a strap coming loose, and, possibly a 12 pack dangling
    loose..<g>

Thanks, now I remember that. That was quite a deal for those times.

After I got me an AC (underdash hookup) for my Chevy, I then got me one
of them thangs. Boy 0 boy.

I thought I was in High Cotton, yes sir-ree.

    They surely 'would'.

One time, the closest mine got me to a road side park just this side of
LittleRock, was 2 1/2 miles. I thought that was something.

Of course, I brought out my ''old fashoned'' RMM (Rand-McNally-Map)
and was able to calculate that if I remained on 67Hwy north, I had a
good chance of running ''up on'' the Road-Side Park.

    How things have changed. --chuckle--

I hope its not so antiquated that it doesnt have the right maps. Does
    it show Mena?

Them people are going to be pissed when they see the GPS has been torn
from the dash on one of those airplanes.
