    Hello all,

Its been about 4 years since I was on here, and since I rode my bike.
had one of those years where money was tight, and I seemed to always
have the bairns with me, so I insured the car instead of the bike, and
then it just got pushed to the back of the garage and covered over. Now
its got to the stage where its all I seem to think about, so I'm going
to get rid of the big, expensive to run car, and get back to the bike.

My plan is to get a new battery (the old one just about runs the alarm),
change the plugs, overhaul the brakes (they seem to be binding)new fuel
then get it started. Once it runs I'll change the oil and filter.

Am I missing doing anything? - apart from getting some refresher
    training and taking it easy.

Its a 1999 SRAD, if thats any help

Did you drain the tank and the carb float bowls before storing it ?.
If not the carbs will almost certainly need cleaning.

Also look out for clutch and throttle cables and linkages binding due
to corrosion, WD40 and a workout should fix it.

if it's a 750 it will have injectors, 600s were still carbs. My knowledge
of, and interest in sports bikes ended about a year after that bike was
    made...
Also look for mammals, avians, arachnids & insects in the airbox. Oh, and
    pump the tyres up.

  5. But don't put oil or WD40 down a lined cable.

Its a 750, with the injection, which I should have said,

Thanks for that, I'd never really considered the cables, so I shall
ensure everything that should move does move freely, drain the tank
    completely etc.

Oddly, the tyres both appear to still have 34 in them, which is right.
The bike has been on paddock stands, so the tyres look okay, shall have
    to see how they feel

    Thanks
