  3. Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy. It's a chronic progressive neuro-
degenerative disease with a prion as agent. It was first identified in
1986 by histopathological examination of affected brains. Normally found
in cattle but strongly linked to cases of Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob
disease implying that it has the ability to cross between species.

It has a distinctive pathology consisting of bilaterally symmetrical
neuronal vacuolation, hypertrophy of astrocytes, and cerebral
amyloidosis. Early diagnosis can be difficult since initial symptoms of
hyperaesthesia and ataxia can be sililar to those of hypomagnesaemia and
    nervous ketosis.

  4. Or "BSD" as was explained to a group of Merkins in the 80's by my then
ProjMan, Mr. Patrick Murphy (I kid you not):

"Bovine Senile Dementia. It's when cows start failing their exams."

I would *love* confirmation of this story from a third party.

I just posted a reply, but the spell checker went ape-shit. It didn't know
half the words in that article, so maybe the dictionary dudes responsible
for the spell checker are a bit on the thick **** side too.

  7. That far?

However I'd hoped he'd be able to get a grown up to explain all the
difficult words, such as "it" and "has".

It was a capital "B", so he at least had a chance.
    Now don't get silly:)
