I'm trying to relive the Datatool's grip on the old Tiger. I've got the immobiliser bit sorted, but the rest has me stumped. There's a bunch of wires coming out the main loom & going into the alarm - 3 grey, 2 red & 1 green. Were they likely to have previously been continuous wires that were cut & fed in to the alarm, or isn't it that simple? Actually now I think about it, at least 2 of them must be for the indicator circuits, yes? Should I just stop now & take it to a dealer, or fire up the angle grinder? -- Krusty. http://www.muddystuff.co.uk http://www.muddystuff.us Off-road classifieds '02 MV Senna '03 Tiger (FOYRNB) '96 Tiger '79 Fantic 250
Krusty explained : The easy rule is:- Where they have broken into the wiring to put something in series, there will be two original wires of the same colours close to each other - just disconnect the alarm from these and rejoin the original wire colours. Where a cable has simply been tapped into as in a 'T', they can be just disconnected.
Option 3 - where they've just cut the wires leading to the plug for the OEM alarm & tapped into those, just cut the fuckers & be done -- Krusty. http://www.muddystuff.co.uk http://www.muddystuff.us Off-road classifieds '02 MV Senna '03 Tiger (FOYRNB) '96 Tiger '79 Fantic 250
No, I told you it was easy to take a Datatool Veto off if it was the one designed for Tigers (i.e. the right loom). The one on my steamer wasn't the right one, hence was spliced in rather than plug'n'play. Oh bollocks, I seem to have a pointy lump of metal stuck in my upper lip. Why don't you just bring it to Avebury next Wednesday? Once you see the pink Tiger you'll take pity on me & want to give me fistfulls of cash rather than invoices. -- Krusty. http://www.muddystuff.co.uk http://www.muddystuff.us Off-road classifieds '02 MV Senna '03 Tiger (FOYRNB) '96 Tiger '79 Fantic 250

Oh shit, not *another* one! I thought I got that out of my system by getting divorced.
