Just read through a report from the chairman.. Of primary interest to me was
the report of his meetings with DPS in regards to some of the biker
complaints.. Sputnik has been meeting with DPS officials since the Dawgs on
Hawgs complaint concerning the harassment at their rally.. In his follow up,
Sputnik found that one of the officers in Dawgs on Hawgs had received a
letter from DPS concerning that incident, back in July..

Another complaint concerned the stops made by DPS for people not wearing
helmets.. Assurances were made by DPS that officers would immediately
terminate the "stop" as soon as compliance was confirmed..

As it has turned out, most of the complaints that the chairman has been
working on, have been complaints filed by "welfare riders".. (not members of
TMRA II)..It is interesting to note that even though, motorcycle enthusiasts
do not support or belong to an organization that was created and organized
for Biker's.. they don't hesitate to call TMRA II for help, when they have a
    problem..

Hopefully .. the DPS officer in Brownwood is going to be corraled and won't
continue to harass the unfortunate bikers who pass through his
jurisdiction.. Maybe.. the ripple effect will be felt by the DPS officers
who patrol IH-20 from Weatherford to Odessa..
