I think it originally came from them being "ATBs", "All Terrain
Bikes". People called them "Mountain Bikes" and abbreviated (wrongly)
in a similar fashion.

 

I highsided it on our trip to the Alps last year and demolished the
right hand rearset, right hand clip on, a couple of fairing panels and
the swinging arm. All this at about 10 mph in a hotel car park.

Stop laughing...

That's next weekend.

Why don't you come to Chimay for the classic racing? Loads of silly
bastard thrashing classics around a proper road circuit while we sit
in the sun drinking beer? The usual schedule is get a late tunnel
crossing on the Thursday, stop overnight in Calais, Chimay by
lunchtime then into it and return Sunday afternoon.

haven't got a clue which crossing we're on or which hotel we're in,
all I know is we're going.

Thursday night.
