Not bad for a totter facing a six month ban.

A very good brief and a (voluntary) speed awareness course did sway the
bench, although I'm sure a bit of wood under one leg will fix that.

Time to start looking round bike shops clutching my insurance cheque.

    I'll say.

They managed to use a tone of voice that had me thinking "Ooh no. I'm
stuffed." before the actual words "3 pts and a sixty pound fine" sank in.

They even halved the £100 costs the police asked for.

    I am a happy rehabilitated[1] speeder, I am.

It just goes that way sometimes.

I was up in Hamilton Sherriff Court years ago. They had a real downer on M74
speeding and I was in for 108 or somesuch heading home from being a
volunteer marshal on the Milk Race. The usual **** was ill and I got an old
JP, Godfrey out of Dad's Army, who had a interest in the race. Small fine
    and 3 points.
It's always worth it just for the look of disgust from the Proc. Fiscal/CPS.

OTOH I've had a 3 month ban for 45 in a 30 (overturned on appeal)
