    Yes, it is.
Pip bought a fully MOT'd working and perfectly good 160mph RF900F for
not a great deal more, but that's not the point.

In ten years time I'll probably still get 300 quid for that box and it
will still be immaculate, how much will your CB be worth and what will
    it look like?

Let me put it another way. I have a 3 drawer box that I paid 90 quid
for in 1995[1], that box was then 6 years old but like new. I have just
turned down an offer of £125 for it because it's worth more than that
    to me.

[1] The going rate in 1995, according to the Snap-On man it was due to
be traded in with. I gave the mechanic 90 quid cash as he was walking
it to the Snap-On van and he put it in my van instead.

Don't tell me that ffs, not that I could cope with a 160mph bike TBF,
90mph on the CB is quite enough for me!
    In order?
    a) **** all
    b) See a.
Aye but I bought a whole unit from Halfords in 2003 which has 8
drawers, top opening, and a large bit at the bottom for big **** off
storage, all in a nice blue colour for only £80. Ok, it's not snap
    on..........

    Nice work !
    I wouldn't bother with Halfords topboxes, they're a bit tinny, I do
confess to having a Halfords Pro rollcab though, after a long and
fruitless search for a Snap-on roll cab at a decent price,

I also have a Sykes Pickavant topbox, which is getting on for 20 years
old, but it's not showing any (major) signs of rust or age. I have an
old style snap-on rollcab and an old type snap-on topbox too.

The Snap-on cabinets are built out of thick metal, and have serious
ball bearing drawer runners, and even though they're old, they look
like they'll outlast me. Weight-wise, the Snap-on roll cab needs 2
people to lift (empty), and the Halfords one only needs one. There's
no comparison on the quality, you really do get what you pay for ..

    Cheers,

    Paul.

You're a naught man indeed uncle WUN.

You must think the odds of him making it through this episode alive
    pretty low.

I have two Teng boxes and an "American Pro" roll cab. All picked up in
sales cheaply but seem well enough built.

I also have a battered and a bit rusty tool chest (I think it's Britool
from memory) - the great thing about that are the 70s era Speedworth
    stickers.

Ignore the hom in Gyp's leathers - gaze upon that gorgeous toolbox!

Exactly, this is a fucking monster. The worst thing about it was X-Rays
didn't pick it up and they only discovered it after an IVU scan. On my
notes it says that it's radiolucent

  11. X-Rays didn't pick mine up at first. I had to drink some gloop which
shone under X-Ray and that led them to the blockage, and then they found
it. But up to 15mm: you really have my sympathy....

The Clarke HD Plus one I had from MachineMart was similarly good,
especially compared to the tinny Draper one the insurers replaced it
with after the great garage raid of 2008.

You are quite correct. I think there's a couple of BRISCA ones as well.

If I can drag my arse off the sofa and into the shower I'll be off to
    Wimbledon Stadium shortly.

Having some trouble working up the motivation though.

I needed bigger. My original S-O top chest is only a 3 drawer unit and
nowhere big enough, this one is deeper by about 2 inches and has the 6
small drawers at the top. However, I now need a matching S-O
intermediate 3 drawer box because the Clarke HD Plus one I have is too
narrow so the top chest over hangs the back of it by a couple of
    inches... bugger.

  19. And so it begins again...
S-O were on the upgrade path before PCs.
