Well, my Ebay purchase is looking up! Got everything working this morning and took her for MOT - passed with flying colours! Mechanic passed verdict that she looked a good'un mechanically and with a bit of TLC she'd be a peach. Although on the way to the MOT she started running on only two - after some fiddling it became apparent that DPO (Dreaded Previous Owner ;o) had not only lost the main fuse but had routed the fuel pipes incorrectly! Doesn't run well as a tandem twin.... ;o) Anyways - haven't given her full beans yeat - although she's really smooth when she comes 'on cam' (yeah - I know - but you know what I mean!) After all the interest at the bike shop, the young lad in the petrol station (18 ish) said 'what the bl**dy 'ells that mate?' He was really impressed (even though the bike must almost be as old as him) - do Gammas normally draw a lot of attention? Having said that - it's prolly like my Duke 851 - always draws a crowd at the Ducati dealer - dispite rows of 916/996/999s. I guess it's good to be different - but riding the RG today - did feel like I was riding a bit of motorcycle history... As this will be a rolling restoration - prolly to absolutely original condition - I'll be doing some debug rides over the next few weeks - must warn the local petrol station to stock up ;o) Sure feels light and flickable comparared to some of my other machines...
