All diseased are checked by a doctor first, and are issued a death
Only a qualified expert ie a doctor can issue a death certificate. I am not
qualified to say if somebody is dead or not, even if they are in little bits
    and peices.

I give you a snippit, and you already, say you know what happened, and that
obviously i dont. As i said, im not investigating it, it happened 1000k's
    away from here.

  4. Yes, that is what I said. You are qualified to say if someone is dead, just
    not issue the certificate.

If he can't issue the certificate then he isn't _qualified_ he's just
using his commen sense and knowledge to tell if someone is dead or not...

for the record hamish, the law is a bit sick and twisted,

Unless you hold a degree or qualification in something then you dont know
what it is. Thats expert opinion, as opposed to lay opinion.

I cant say, he had blood on him, I say he had a red fluid on him.

Its not marijuana in his bong, its green vegetable matter in an bottle with
a piece of hose sticking out the side

He not dead, until an expert tells me he is dead.

Geoff's not drunk, he had blood shot eyes, his breath smelt of intoxicating
liquor, he was unsteady on his feet and he spoke with slurred speech.

getting the idea what a sick sad world we live in?

  10. That is one area you'd be able to comment on the best (the law bit, not
    the...).
Is this in note taking (physical evidence) or for reports?
Really? What is the reason for that? What happened to suggest that blood
wasn't blood? For instance, what is the procedure for calling an ambulance
if you have no "skills" in identifying such?
Is that because "bong" is subjective and implies illicit use? Also, it
    may/may not be gear?
Even if his head is not present?

Is that due to inadequate "testing"?
Sort of, but how do you know what intoxicating liquor smells like? How can
you be sure of that and not of blood?

An interesting view into the other half, thanks.

I didn't say I knew what happened. I just made one or two reasonable
assumptions on the basis of the information which you gave and knowledge of
what happens out on the road when 15 sportsbike riders are in the same place
    at the same time.

So was the bike really overheating, was it the oil or temperature light which
came on? Was it the rear wheel or the front wheel which locked up? Did the
engine seize? How do you know he panicked ?

That's why Hammo said a doctor can CERTIFY the death
Even a layperson can document a death. Especially if the person is in
    many pieces.
(never thought I'd agree with or understand Hamish)

Qualified means in this usage "possessing a (relevant) qualification"...
obviously MB does not... hence by definition he cannot be 'qualifed'

    The usage I am 'using' - #

    1. To declare competent or capable; certify.
    2. To make legally capable; license.

The usage hammo is 'using' - *

    3. To describe by enumerating the characteristics or qualities of;
    characterize.

Personally I believe 1 and 2 are more appropriate in this circumstance
    than 3 *shrug*

By law, that would be Expert opinion, and Laymens opinion.

I can say it looks like this, i cant say it is that though.

Although you dont have to be qualified as such, just experienced, a bar
tender with 10 years experience can give expert opinion to say hes drunk.

Thats why i love people telling me but officer he was speeding :-( your not
an expert in speed detection are you :) well no, nothing i can do then, on
    your way.

    Cheers
