That they might be bigger in diameter and bump on the tank? ;-)

The handlebar weights on a GPX250 are made from iron, but the ones I
bought for my VT500[1] are a lead core with a thin steel "shroud" over
the outside. They're quite a bit heavier than the GPX ones.
It's a great way to spend two months and $6k, although if you want to
really see stuff you need at least 6 months and preferably a year.

[1] It should have had them fitted, but they were missing when I
    bought the bike.

Yeah, I got the mail, just trying to find a spare bit of time to drop
    round...
"have a nice day" - usually with the implication of it being said in the
    most sarcastic way possible ;-)

Good to see a man with some taste on this n/g - unlike the bloody 4X
    drinking poofs[1] in Qld!

I did it every day for a year on a Yamaha RZ250... but then again, the RZ
is streets ahead of the hondamower.

... but then again, the RZ
Yeah, isn't it great of Honda to offer a nice retro in these times of
harshly styled origami warriors. It reminds me of my old '65 CB160 and '73
CB175, although the CB250 is much more refined. The RZ is quick and
moderately comfortable, but it's a hyper bitch.

  12. RZ's have been the most comfortable bikes I have ever owned. Though the
GPz11 wasn't all that far behind, once you knew how to get comfortable on
    it.

after riding a CB250 around for a bit i have found that it is quite happy at
    anything
up to 100K , which is about 5500 revs when the redliine is 9500

it will do more than 100 but is copping a bit of a hiding to do it
there is prob some better choices such as GPX/ZZR

David White looks like a cross between Rown Atkinson and Keef Richard.

One of life's little jokes that a bloke who looked like he was suffering
from galloping consumption should be the Health minister.

I have a CB250 and weigh 90kg and normally have no problem doing 100
to 110kph on freeways. The only problem I have is some of the steeper
hills which limit me to 80kph.

I would have said you were fine till I read that bit. On a freeway even on
the hills, the cars will still be doing 110 plus, so you could be putting
yourself in considerable danger specially on a busy road. I used to have a
Virago 250 with a top speed of 120kmh, I moved from Byron Bay to Canberra on
that little number so it was fine for highway riding, but every day during
peak hour style traffic...? Maybe look at a larger displacement, something
like a second hand V-Star 650 would be perfect and still a low slung bike
for easy maneuverability and control plus being learner legal in some states
(if that is why you are looking at 250's).
