The Sunshine Coast hinterland is real nice too.
Nambour-Mapleton-Maleny-Woodford-Dayboro is a nice run and apparently the
Bunya Mountains are good to but I haven't been there.
The Great Dividing Range is there 50-100km inland the whole way up Qld so
there's always good, fun roads not far from the coastal cities.

All given runs are highly rated.

If you get the time, take a run out to the Bunya Mountains - 2-3 hrs from
Brisbane. Take the Mt Glorious run out to the dam, and head north and west
from there. Come back via Mt Mee. All great fun, as one long day or a
    relaxed two days.

Can't believe you're not riding to Qld from Perth. Man, that's bloody soft,
    honestly! Pfffft... :)

Enjoy yourself. Looks like you're up for a lot of fun. IMHO, you should
take an extra week off and head up to Cairns and explore the Gillies Hwy and
a few other unbelievable roads up that way. Hell, quit your job and just
keep riding. In fact, I'll quit mine too and join you for at least 2 years.

I think Lisa is about to kill me.... aaaagghhhh

HAHAHA why the hell not ay ! actually got 3 months long service leave next
year and will definately be planning something like that ,only problem is
finding someone else that has 3 months off too.
work here told me he did it and told me how many tyres he went thru just
from them wearing flat in the middle. If it wasnt for the damn nullabor it
would probably be a good ride.

Nullabor? Just tell yourself you're an adventurer on the Paris Dakar, and
have to beat all the Pajeros behind you.

That should keep you awake for the first hundred k's or so. What you do for
the next thousand is another matter.

All good roads here, but take it easy. Police are everywhere on weekends,
particularly over Mt Glorious. Beaut weather here this time of year too.
    Enjoy!

Moike and I did the Nullarbor last year. Tyres certainly squared off,
but it's flat and straight anyhow, so we did not replace any until after
    the trip.

You wanna explain this one Goaty?

Actually, I bought new tyres for the Nullabor trip.
I'm thinking maybe I should replace them before Wintersun. 20,000k is
    enough.

I'm wondering what dort of rubber Fred's mate was using if he went
through multiple sets of tyres on a single return crossing.
