At the end of next week I'm going here :http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?
    ll=36.846094,-3.9869073&z=15&t=h&hl=en.

I'm riding with my BIL, and we are planning on going via Paris,
Auxerre, the Millau bridge, Beziers, the Costa Brava, Barcelona,
Sitges, and the rest of the journey Iwe have yet to plan. Is ther
anywhere worthy of a bit of a detour that might be worth seeing? I do
intend going over the Pico de Velata and continuing on to Gibraltar to
get a boat over to North Africa just to say I have done it while I'm
    there.

The place I'm going to is called Canillas de Albaida, it's near
    Malaga.

No no no. If you want her to appear, you have to say it three times.

    Naturally, I don't, so I won't.

  4. No it's not. It's in the middle of nowhere and the nearest big town is
    Vélez Málaga.

Bypass Gibralter, it isn't worth it, honest.......

Head down the coast to Tarifa and get a ferry from there.

110euros for 2, with a day tour and lunch last year.
    (Left bike on Quay side).

  6. I've never particularly courted popularity, but I don't remember ever
saying to the hourdes of ukrmers that seem to flock to within spitting
distance of my house each year, that they shouldn't pop in and say hola.

Drop me an email and we can try to meet up for a beer. Do you know
anywhere around the area where a friend can hire a bike for a couple
of days? we want to ride up to the Pico de Valeta and she won't have a
    bike as she's flying down.

  11. My gmail addy works (even though the spam filtering seems to be a joke
now). Let me know when you'll be visiting. Don't come now, it's pissing
    down.

  12. In Málaga province. About 45 minutes inland to the north of the city.

  16. Autoroute says 55km. But it also says that Canillas de Albaida is 123km
from my house and Málaga is 70km, so wibble I suppose.

Just looked at the route from Canillas to Vélez - 26km. Autoroute shows
it as mega-twisty, so in real life I bet it's a bastard.
