  3. Why do you *need* to put rim tape on a modern alloy wheel that takes
    tubeless tyres?

  4. LOL.

In other words, it's probably the air-proof sealant to prevent the air
    seeping out through proous alloy.

Superb. You've just rendered your tubeless rims useless.

Get with the 21st century, daddio.

It's for putting a kewl stripe around the *outside* of the rim.

TOG, this is a 'decorative' stripe around the outer edge of the rim.
Yamaha paint it on the R1, but some sad fucks stick a pinstripe around
the rim. It often looks as crooked as a donkey's rear leg

I believe he's refering to rim *prettifying* tape. The stuff cunts stick to
the outside of the rim to make it look "cool".

Now avaialbe as standard on some bikes as an incentive to encourage people
    to get their wallets out.

  9. Yeah, I see that now. Trouble is, having nurtured SOBs for a generation,
I've come to think 'rim tape' means one thing and one thing only.

Next you'll be telling me that ram air isn't a piece of tin on top of a
    cylinder head.

I found a way, blast them like **** with heat, let it cool just a bit & you

See if Nitro-moors paint stripper does anything to the overal coating on a
bit that doesn't show, if it doesn't then try it on the pinstriping.
