Weather permitting I'll be at Rivington Barn on Sunday morning,
    elevenish.

After writing off my Triumph Triple in the wet my missus would only
agree to me getting another bike if I promised to only ride it in the
    dry weather!

I've just got poor taste. I enjoy an afternoon looking at motorbikes,
relaxing on the grass in good company. Maybe I'm just weird that way.

If it had been dry, would you have only ridden in the wet ?
What a load of bollocks, get yourself some and tell the bitch to **** off
    !
It is is, you should be riding it.

Well, it is about an hour each way for me, I enjoy the roads up to
Rivvy, especially over the tops from Belmont, and I enjoy the rest and
a brew when I get there. Then the nice ride back.

Christ knows why, you appear to have no use for them

At the moment they get quite a lot of use, if I annoy the wife, then
the amount of use they get is likely to diminish quickly.

But if you were not riding it so slow in case of rain it would only take
    you 10 mins.

Well, there are one or two, but I credit the greater majority with more
sense than to waste thier time at "biker meets" like Rivington and Devils
    bridge.

If youw want biker company, go to a rally[1] and indulge for a weekend.
The ride to and from the rally is often fantastic, if you choose your
rally carefully... ie not 50 miles down the road.

[1] Except for Ace as he doesn't do tents :)

YTC again showed genius and clarity of thought by typing:
Yes, but my daughter is only 18 months and whilst me and my wife used
to go to rallys every year, it is simply too noisy for my daughter to
sleep (She has been camping in the lakes since 3 months old).

It's not just the tent so much as the whole hassle-ridden experience.
I did sleep in Statto's tent at Chimay, which was fine but the waking
up in a damp field and having to walk/ride some distance to get a
coffee and pain au chocolat is not the best wau to start any day,
particularly when as hungover as I was that morning.

But rallies are different again - I went to one or two when I was
younger but never really saw the appeal. If I want to meet up to chat
with other bikers I'd much rather do so at an evening pub meet than
waste a weekend getting pissed (and usually pissed on) in a field.

I enjoy camping, but must admit that it is a "weather permitting"
experience when I have the family with me.
I enjoy the Rallys but it is really to much hassle with a young family.
I'll be back in 10 years!
Sounds like a great idea. Hope that future Lancs ones will be posted
    here for me... ;)

BTW, when UKRM go to Rivington (or elsewhere) how can we spot each
other? I would like to meet peeps from here next Sunday if anyone makes
Rivington again, but how will I know you?

Should we get a "UKRM" sticker or arm band d'you think?

Ha ha, don't think that'd work somehow but nice idea. Again, all
painting our bodies blue and arriving naked would probably help us
distinguish ourselves from the crowds, but not really practical.

You can't miss my spray can painted 13 year old several times crashed
Black and Red CBR1000F (J reg) but you can always e-mail me on:

    (Remove my_teeth when mailing me)

I'd like to meet people next Sunday if anyones going and have a ride
out (NOT driving like a twat mind you, I have a family to think about).

Oh and YTC#1 try and refrain from called me a soft shite, I can see
your fingers moving towards the keyboard...

Why don't you do what most other new posters do when they want to see
what the regulars are really like and go to either an eosm or a bosm?
They're publicised well in advance and at regular intervals so
claiming you know nothing about them. Suprisingly enough a spot of
lurking for a while would have already shown you this.
Lurking for even a couple of weeks or googling using the words ukrm &
stickers might help you on this subject.

Heh. And in Chimay the coffee came with a mini bar of choc, which was
also wroapped in the bread for the full effect. I'd forgotten how well
the Belgian's do coffee and stuff.
