Mark Holden apparently knows, but I'm not sure he could explain that (or
    anything?) coherently.

You know what's really scary? I remember when Mark Holden was actually
rather CUTE!!!! - in a disgustingly clean-cut way- (yeah, we're talkin'
early-mid 70s...) I met him when I was about 15 or 16, and thought he was
    just GORGEOUS!!!

Gee, since IDOL I have been congratulating myself that my teen crush came to
nowt - but now it looks like I might've been able to learn something useful
from him about sizzles and shnizzles and bloody wtf nizzles. Sheesh, you
    live and learn, eh?

Yeah; Daylight-Saving-Time is just fukkin' stoopid innit!!
Apparently he could've done some gardening or played tennis at 7pm as a
trade-off had he lived that long though......

I comment on one line, I quote one line. It saves bandwidth.
"They certainly take their lives in their hands every time they get on
the road." It makes me laugh because it sounds like something a car
driver would say about a motorcyclist, or a policeman would say about a
'hoon car drivers', and so on up the order of the road transport hierarchy.

I just think it's funny that road users always look down at the 'lower
forms' of road users and make generalizations about their attitudes and
    behaviours.

I remember Aido posting once about some mad motorcyclist on the West
Gate Bridge who didn't have long to live because he performed the same
inherently dangerous moves on a daily basis through peak hour traffic..
the irony being of course that the fact that he lived to continually
repeat his performances, and therefore cause other motorists to come to
ill-conceived conclusions about his lifespan, was proof that his own
    conclusion was wrong.

I'm sorry that you typed lots of stuff in reply to me. I didn't read
past the first paragraph. I hope you didn't spend too much time on the
    rest.

And decontextualises so you can conveniently push your own self-righteous
    barrow.
Nah, you don't get it. And considering the fact that, by your own admission,
you don't bother to read it when it's explained to you, you'll remain one of
those bombastic self-righteous twats who shoots off his mouth on the
strength of one percent of something that somebody says..
Well perhaps if you bothered to read a bit further, instead of only picking
out one line, you'd get the full picture. No probs.

    Have a nice day.

What I thought too. Sunup in Perth is going to be 7:40 before we get off
this stupid daylight saving gig. I see a cyclist most mornings going north
on Gt Northern Hwy at around 6 am. I suspect he's on the way to work at
Pearce RAAF base. He has a flashing head and twin flashing tail-lights as
well as a helmet light. Then 15 mins down the road I pass another guy on a
'bent, also lit up as well as you can be on a pushie. If it wasn't for
daylight savings, both those people could be riding in daylight and a damn
sight safer. I'll bet they don't vote for fukkin' stoopid daylight savings.

The good part about daylight savings is that when the clock indicated 17:00
yesterday. it had cooled down to 41.2ºC.

Not at all. Your statement was "They certainly take their lives in
their hands every time they get on the road." and I believe that I read
that in the context it was intended.

No, Bacchetta. I commute to work in Sydney, I'm not game to try a
    trike....

Although if I ever am silly enough to go cycle touring I'll certainly
    think very hard about one.

You have quite a lot of control. How you use it now....

Ain't no doubt to me that two wheelers, powered and unpowered, do run
a hell of a risk when they share the road with cars.

The same crash rate, some hugely greater death and injury rate that I
can't at the moment recall. Because without the cage, hitting or
being hit by solid objects sorta does that.
