Yes tyres again, i have a VFR800 54 reg, i go along roads upright, the
nearest my knee gets to the road is 18 inches, therefore i am upright
almost most of the time and the tyres are always flat in the middle.

I currently have a pair of bridgestone 020's fitted, 120/70/ZR17
on front, 180/55/ZR17 on rear, god knows if there the best but
as yet i have no reason to think there not.

I have a friend who has a machine which can remove/refit and balance
motorcycle tyres free of charge, so my question is knowing i am an
upright rider does anyone have any recomendations as to what i could
purchase perhaps online or whatever, therefore reducing the cost.

Pirelli, Avon, whatever, as long as there Round and Rubberish they
    will do.

    Thanks
    Alan

Part-worn race tyres? Plenty of tread left in the centre and no chicken
    strips.

    (reads OP again)
if a better wear due to being upright is what you're after,
I suggest Michelin Macadams, hard as nails they are and cheap too.

You won't get any better for what you're going to use them for and the
    price is fantastic.

That's not good, he's not riding the bike properly and will probably crash
    it one day.

    I'd concur on the choice of cover, and offer the FWR pack of three;
one front and two rears for £189:

I must have gone to the wrong ebay auction then because I'm sure Lozzo
was suggesting the OP should buy a pair of Avon Azaro AV45/46 ST
    tyres.

Actually, he used to push the bike over, keeping his body upright, so yes,
    you're right,
no chicken strips though, so the tyres were well used. He's happy and
    enjoyed the V-Tech
and after all thats the point of bikes innit?

Surely they'd be fine for a 'gentle' rider on a sports tourer? Not that
    I've ever used them, mind.
