    Being the official gov't website, they have got it back to front, of
    course. The actual sums are based on $13.93 per hundred kgs. For the
    sake of simplicity, by decree all bikes under 250 cc will be licensed
    as being between 100 and 200 kgs, all bikes over 250cc will be
    licensed as being between 200 and 300 kgs.

    Third Party Insurance Premiums
    4 Motor Cycle
    Other than motor cycles included in Classes 5(b) and 7(a)
    [Private] $ 156.05

    Stamp Duty on all Premiums 10%

    Plus
    Standard Recording Fee
    $ 16.20

    Or go to http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/fees/index.html#anch3 and
    work it out yourself.
    You're looking at about $215 per year for the Postie. On the other
    hand, an 1100 Guzzi is only $14 more.
